In a pensive mood lately. Let's try another ramble blog.

Last time I mentioned notable comics. That is, I was looking into comics that were winning australian comic awards, and comics that achieved notoriety in Britain. I had been interested in researching such things, but I'm entirely sure to what purpose. A lot of comics are so dry and wordy. How can you say you're interested in a medium when you don't really pay attention to most of what's out there?
I had been watching youtube videos sum up plotlines of popular cape comics, in particular there was a series about Green Lantern that caught my attention. I looked up ebay and grabbed a set of books to read. It was like trying to read a daytime soap opera. The videos made it sound so exciting, but I didn't get any of that!
Gorgeous art, but I just find myself blanking out and flipping the pages.

This has me curious to see what I could come up for a cape comic. It would have to be lewd, of course. There are a few such comics here on comic fury already I believe, so I'd have to pick a tone to distance myself from those. I do like drama, despite my daytime soap comment, I think the GL was too reliant on people knowing the characters from it's huge history rather than developing from scratch. I've always had problems picking out interesting powers for my own superheroes though. At which it may as well just be a regular comic. Ah well.

You could always have a character develop random powers that flip back and forth until an accident locks them into a specific set that you like.

I think I've read a Last Airbender fanfic that did that.
